Reaching Audiences Worldwide
Established in 1995, CJ Entertainment has become Korea’s No. 1 motion picture studio and boasts the country’s largest and most significant domestic film library of over 290 titles, with 20 new films being added each year. From the outset, CJ Entertainment has been distributing Dreamworks SKG films, and as of 2006, has been and still remains as Paramount’s exclusive Korean distribution partner.
CJ Entertainment continues to aggressively expand its international reach, engaging in co-production and co-financing deals with key industry players from the US, China, and Japan.
In the U.S., CJ Entertainment began direct distribution of Asian films nationwide in 2009, and currently handles 20 to 24 titles to theaters per year, making it the largest Asian theatrical film distributor.
Many of its titles are available for purchase on DVD, as well as on digital platforms, such as Netflix, Hulu, and the Sony Entertainment Network. CJ Entertainment is the cornerstone of CJ E&M,
Asia’s premier entertainment conglomerate that encompasses the total value chain for media content, including film production and distribution, broadcast networks and original programs, music sales and concerts, and interactive game publishing and portals.
